True Leadership
Leadership can come from anywhere at any time. Across the globe, ordinary people see problems and they set out on their own to fix them. Every day, somebody, somewhere, is working to reset the status quo or pushing the envelope of human achievement further. In so doing, they are setting an example for all of us. True Leadership: Sam Tsemberis
The most common program to help the chronic homeless population had been to promise housing only after an individual has begun to fix his or her underlying problem—completing a detox program, or receiving mental health care, for instance. Although this approach seems logical, it was not working very well. And dealing with the chronically homeless is an expensive proposition. Sam Tsemberis recognized this and came forward with a new approach, the Housing First model.
